RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br />OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br />RULE 11 -RULES RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS <br />Section 1Definitions <br />A.“County-sponsored Program”-shallmeanany organized program or <br />activity under the control of the Department of Parks and Recreation <br />which is funded wholly or in part by the County of Hawai‘i. <br />B.“Departments”-shall meanthe Department of Parks and Recreation of <br />the County of Hawai‘i. <br />C. “Director” -shall meanthe Directorof the Department of Parks and <br />Recreation,County of Hawai‘i. <br />D.“Staff”-shall meanany person in the employ of the County who is <br />assigned to a particular facility under the control of the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation. <br />E.“Volunteer Program staff”-shall meanany person, whether a County <br />employee or a volunteer, who is involved in administering the Volunteer <br />Program. <br />F.“Volunteer”-shall meanany person, who provides services or labor, of <br />his/her own free will, without compensation or remuneration. <br />Section 2General Requirements for Participation in County-Sponsored <br />Volunteer Programs <br />A.Selection Requirements.The general requirements for selection of a <br />person to participate as a volunteer shall be: <br />1.Aneed or vacancy for volunteer participation in a specific volunteer <br />program or County-sponsored program. <br />3 <br /> <br />
