Lundkvist on Wednesday, <br /> August 28, 2013, at the County Council Room, Hawai`i County Building, 25 <br /> Aupuni Street, First Floor, Room 1401, Hilo, Hawai`i. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Ms. Karolyn P. Lundkvist, Chair <br /> Ms. Pudding Lassiter, Vice-Chair <br /> Mr. Brian De Lima, Member <br /> Mr. George J. Handgis, Member(via videoconference-Kona) <br /> Ms. Marcella Stroh, Member <br /> Mr. Michael B. Sumja, Member <br /> Absent: Ms. Gloria K. Wong, Member <br /> Also Present: Mr. Ronald K. Counsel <br /> Ms. Joney Nitahara, HR Manager II, HR Department <br /> Ms. Jennifer Sakamoto, HR Program Specialist, HR Department <br /> Ms. Jamie Martines, HR Assistant, HR Department <br /> Ms. Glynis Yamada, Secretary-Reporter, HR Department <br /> STATEMENTS The Chair directed the Commission to proceed to the next order of business, <br /> FROM THE Statements from the Public. <br /> PUBLIC <br /> (Item 2): <br /> MARGARET The Chair called on Ms. Margaret Wille, who made the following statement: <br /> WILLE: <br /> Ms. Wille stated that she serves on the Council and represents District 9. She said <br /> that the council members hold elected positions and are considered part-time, but <br /> most of them spend more than 50 percent of their time in the performance their <br /> jobs. She commented that these positions should be considered as three-quarter <br /> positions, and that there are other staff positions that are paid close to double of the <br /> council members' salaries. <br />
