Salary Commission October 30,2013 <br /> Finance Director: $110,244 <br /> Deputy Director of Finance: $104,502 <br /> Director of Public Works: $110,244 <br /> Deputy Director of Public Works: $104,502 <br /> Ms. Nitahara stated that the total cost difference for the 13 positions would be <br /> $162,048 (SEE ATT. C). <br /> Ms. Stebbins informed the Commission that,procedurally, Mr. Morimoto made <br /> the original motion, and asked that he either amend his original motion to accept <br /> the recommended salaries as revised, or to withdraw his motion. <br /> Motion Withdrawn: Mr. Morimoto withdrew his motion. <br /> Motion to Approve: Ms. Stroh moved to accept the recommendations, as amended. The motion <br /> was seconded by Ms. Lassiter. <br /> The roll call vote, was as follows: <br /> AYES: Commission Members Handgis, Lassiter, Morimoto, Stroh, <br /> Sumja, and Chair Lundkvist—6. <br /> NOES: None. <br /> ABSENT: Commission Member De Lima- 1. <br /> EXCUSED: None. <br /> Ms. Toriano inquired whether the Commission determined an effective date for the <br /> salary increases to begin. <br /> Ms. Stebbins replied that,previously, the Commission's recommendation was that <br /> it be effective on October 1st in which case it would apply retroactively, or the <br /> Commission could set a new effective date. <br /> Ms. Stroh asked Ms. Toriano for her recommendation concerning the effective <br /> date. <br /> Ms. Toriano stated that if adopted today,November 1st could be the effective date <br /> of the salary increases. <br /> Page 4 <br />
