Toni Roberts—Civil Defense, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) testified on <br /> agenda item 92 under New Business, Connectivity and Emergency Response. Toni stressed <br /> that she is in strong support of the PREP Fair and everything the CERSC stands for and also <br /> recognized Stephanie's concerns for identifying connectivity locations. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> June moved to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2014 meeting as submitted. Second by <br /> Farris. The motion to approve the minutes as amended passed with 6 votes aye (Susan was not yet <br /> present). <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Greggor Ilagan, Council Member District 4: Council Member Ilagan gave a brief overview <br /> and navigational demonstration of his County based website. Information and current activity <br /> of the happenings in District 4 are kept up to date on this website that is easily accessible by the <br /> public. <br /> 2. Connectivity and Emergency Response Subcommittee (CERSC): <br /> Public Testimony: <br /> 1. Glenda, Office Manager for the Hawaiian Acres Road Committee, testified that G Road is <br /> "terrible" and that F Road is already a two-lane road and has never flooded. She also noted <br /> that portions of roads 9, 10 and 1 I are in a flood zone and can be impassable during heavy <br /> flooding so they would not make for good emergency roads. <br /> 2. John Breitmeier, resident of Fern Acres on the back end, testified that he supports the idea <br /> of connectivity, especially for the back ends of the subdivisions. His recommendations <br /> would be to use Gardenia and F or Anthurium and G. <br /> Marlene Hapai (CERSC) announced that the 2014 PREP Fair will be held on August 30, 2014 <br /> at Kea`au High School from 9am-3pm. $4,000 dollars of Zendo Kern's contingency fund has <br /> been appropriated for the 2014 PREP Fair. Data collection packets were sent out to all <br /> subdivisions in an attempt to gather more community input on connectivity, and as this data is <br /> returned it will be reviewed, categorized and prioritized by the CERSC. <br /> 3. Mass Transit Subcommittee (MTSC): Marty Mimmack resigned from the position of <br /> Chairperson. MTSC is currently seeking a new Chairperson. Jon Olson attended a meeting of <br /> the Joint Traffic Safety Committee and reports that there was an island wide study of bus stops <br /> and he is going to try and get a copy of said study. <br /> 4. Communication No. 2014-9: Pahoa Regional Town Center Plan Subcommittee <br /> (PRTCPSC): Sharon Daun noted that she would like the letter to be a little more respectful to <br /> Mayor Kenoi. <br /> Sharon moved to approve the draft letter to Mayor Kenoi, second by Farris. <br /> A discussion then ensued to amend and formalize the letter. <br /> 2 <br />
