<br /> <br />Katie stated that radio ads are very effective because teenagers listen to them. <br />Elena suggested that we focus on one radio station that’s island wide such as <br />92.1 “The Wave”. She will get pricing the ads and will find out what kind of <br />funding she can get from the Commission for assistance. <br /> <br />It was suggested by Carol that we make a list of what we want to do since we <br />only have $1,700, which is not much when we think about all the possible <br />projects. <br /> <br />Hazel suggested something as simple as an ad in a program such as the <br />Rodeo or Robotics competition that says “The Committee on the Status of <br />Women Supports Robotics” so we’re inclusive with the ad and it raises our <br />visibility. She will find out how much it’ll cost to put an ad in the brochures and <br />bring back that information to the next meeting. She suggested making a list <br />and attaching what the costs would be and discuss if at the next meeting. <br /> <br />2. Urgent Services Directory <br />Hazel mentioned that 24 hours should be hyphenated. <br /> <br />Farrah-Marie reported that Shriner’s Hospital’s link is not working; Mele will <br />correct that. <br /> <br />Mele stated that since Farrah-Marie’s organization is participating in this <br />project, they should get credit. Farrah-Marie will get the name of her <br />organization to Mele. Acknowledgment will be printed at the top of the <br />directory. <br /> <br />Carol asked if we would be increasing the amount in the budget for directories. <br />We’d like to print the same amount of 20,000 as we previously printed. <br />There’s less money to go around so we need to get quotes. <br /> <br />Farrah-Marie suggested we decide on how many we want printed, get quotes <br />and then present it to the committee so we can request that amount. Once we <br />know how many we want, we can go for quotes or we can say we have a <br />maximum dollar amount and ask how many can be printed with that amount. <br />Farrah-Marie presented two scenarios which we can vote on a the next <br />meeting: <br /> we can say we want 20,000 and she’ll get quotes for 20,000 <br />a. <br />copies and come back with that dollar amount. She’ll cover <br />$1,500 and the remainder, the committee pays for the balance; <br />say yes or no. <br /> we decide on a total dollar amount and Farrah-Marie will go out <br />b. <br />and say she this is how much we have, what’s the maximum <br />copies can be printed for that amount. <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br />
