Student activities coordinator at the schools will be involved in coordinating this <br />project. <br />Funding is needed to send the trainer to each of the islands. They also want to do <br />a kick off at each of the neighbor islands. She’s hoping that the HSBA and the <br />neighbor Bar Associations will assist in the funding. The budget will be put <br />together by the end of the month. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Teen Dating Violence <br />Cyd brought some informational packets on teen dating violence which the <br />committee may consider ordering and distributing to the teen. <br />Nancy mentioned that each council member has contingency funds so committee <br />members can ask council members to provide funds to bring Jill Murray to <br />Hawai‘i. The cost to bring Jill Murray to Hawaii will cost approximately <br />$25,000. <br /> <br />Margaret suggested that members write a letter or call first, explain what the <br />program is about and what has happened in the past. <br />CSW committee members will be contacting the council members to request for <br />funding. <br />Katie suggested that if we do get Jill Murray, we could have her do presentations <br />in districts of the council members who have donated their funds. <br /> <br />Hazel mentioned that there have been requests for presentations on Teen Dating <br />Violence to the schools. She offered to do presentation if we can’t get Jill <br />Murray. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Networking <br />Brooke is waiting for information if we could do a Facebook page. <br />Kim stated that our main focus is reaching out to teens; how do we do that? <br />Margaret talked to Mitch Roth and she explained to him that she went to a <br />seminar on social media, terms of use and specifically asked the question when <br />it’s municipality, a county government if it is problematic and the answer is yes. <br />Suggestion: do it on your own personal Facebook page. <br /> <br />Farrah Marie is not available to report on her contact with the Girl Scouts. <br />Karen Rose is a Girl Scouts leader and suggested a teenager start a page to reach <br />out to the teen audience.
