After it’s approved, Farrah- Marie Gomes will purchase the items and submit her receipts for reimbursement before June 30. B. New project ideas: This item will be pushed to the agenda for next month. Announcements Mele Spencer reminded the committee that elections should be done in June. Nancy Kelly, Carol Kitaoka and Mele Spencer volunteered to be on the nominating committee. The nominating committee will create a slate of officers and will send to Lee Watanabe for distribution two weeks prior to the next meeting. Election will be done at the next meeting. Mele Spencer announced for Elena Cabatu that on June 27, YWCA is recognizing Remarkable People on June 27 at a luncheon at the Hilo Hawaiian. Jan Higashi and Jackie Johnson are the nominees. Tickets are still available if anyone’s interested. Farrah-Marie Gomes announced that she has been in touch with Marcy, Coordinator for Hawai‘i Island Girls Scouts. She lives in Waikoloa and works out of the Kea‘au office once a week. Marcy expressed interest in having a discussion about how the Girls Scouts could collaborate with the CSW to promote our goals and mission. If anyone on the committee is interested in joining Farrah-Marie in the meeting, please e-mail her. Mele Spencer announced that Zonta is trying to get Catherine Betts over to the Big Island and is working with the Prosecutor’s Office in setting this up. She will keep us informed. Next meeting – Friday, July 12, 2013 in Waimea. Lee Watanabe will not be at the meeting to take minutes; Hazel Beck will do the minutes.
