October 2012: A CIP request for $40,000.00 was submitted by the AC for an initial feasibility study and included in the FY 2013-14 <br />CIP budget. To date this project has not been included in any county bond authorization legislation. December 2012: Councilman Kern proposed a resolution in support of a swimming area <br />and it passed unanimously by the Council. January 2013: Parks and Recreation Director, Clayton Honma wrote a letter of support for the feasibility study of the Pohoiki Swimming <br />area. January 2013: Sen. Russell Ruderman requested $250,000.00 be included in the state CIP budget for FY 2013-14. The project was not included in the state CIP budget. To date no <br />state CIP funds have been allocated. January 2014: Council Member Ilagan offered $40,000 from his contingency fund for the feasibility study. However, Parks and Rec. indicated <br />that they would not be able to encumber the funds before June 2014 and that they should be in a better position in the next fiscal year to initiate the project should funding become <br />available.
