(Refer to related Action c in Section 3.4) (4.1.1) Goals: a) The percentage of single-occupancy vehicles <br />during peak commute periods is reduced. b) The percentage of residents who commute to employment or travel for services outside of Puna is reduced. c) Reliance on fossil fuels for <br />transportation is reduced. (4.1.2) Objectives: Promote ride-sharing, van-pools, and car-pooling. Expand telecommuting opportunities. Provide more services and employment within <br />Puna’s village and town centers. Create new employment opportunities in Puna in order to reduce long commuting.
