Merit Appeals Board <br />September 17, 2014 <br />Board Approval Required: Communication 14-01.10, from <br />Julian T. White, Deputy Attorney General, transmitting the <br />Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Order concerning <br />Communication No. 14-01, appealing a non -selection to a position <br />within the Office of the County Clerk. Based on the forgoing <br />Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, the Merit Appeals Board <br />orders the appeal be dismissed as untimely. <br />Appeal Hearing: Communication No. 14-02, received on May 28, <br />2014, appealing a recruitment and examination (minimum <br />qualification requirements) action by the Department of Human <br />Resources; and <br />o Communication No. 14-02.1: From Diane A. Noda, Deputy <br />Corporation Counsel, dated August 5, 2014, requesting <br />continuance of the appeal hearing from August 20, 2014 to <br />September 17, 2014. The Appellant has no objections. <br />• Annual Evaluation of the Director of Human Resources <br />o Director of Human Resources (HR) Goals and Objectives for <br />FY 2014-2015; and <br />o Merit Appeals Board's Evaluation Tool for the Director of <br />HR for FY 2014-2015. <br />8) Director's Report <br />A) HR Quarterly Reports <br />B) Items of Current Interest <br />9) Schedule Next Meeting Date <br />10) Adjournment <br />Executive Session <br />The Merit Appeals Board anticipates convening one or more executive <br />meetings regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to <br />Section 92-5(a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board's attorney on <br />questions and issues pertaining to the Board's powers, duties, privileges, <br />immunities, and liabilities. A 2/3 vote pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes, <br />Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive meeting. <br />The meeting place is accessible to persons with disabilities. If you need an <br />auxiliary aid or service, language interpretation, or other access accommodation, <br />please contact Glynis Yamada at 961-8361 as soon as possible or at least five <br />days prior to the meeting of September 17, 2014. <br />2 <br />
