Kohala Shoreline, LLC. <br />This property is located makai of Kohala Ranch entrance. <br />This property was re-zoned to RS-15 in 1997, in 2007 the Council attempted to rezone to <br />R-15acres, but this was vetoed and the property remains zoned RS-15. <br />This parcel is 37.88 acres and the current subdivision concept is 9 lots that are about 4 <br />acres each. <br />A draft EA will be done soon. <br />This is where the public may comment on the project. <br />The planning department will not make a recommendation on this project until the <br />EA is complete. <br />The Planning Department is not the decision making body. <br />o <br />The SMA is granted by the Planning Commission and the Zoning is decided by <br />o <br />the County Council. <br />The Planning Department makes a recommendation to the Commission who <br />o <br />decides the SMA and makes a recommendation to the Council on zoning. <br />There will be a minimum of 4? Public hearings. <br />A minimum of one by the Planning Commission and three by the Council <br />o <br />The landowner wants to rezone to R 3 acres. <br />The public access plan will be established as a condition of the SMA <br />The lateral access would follow the jeep road <br />The Ala Loa will be preserved. <br />A fishermen's trail should be considered. <br />The process after the draft EA will be the final EA, then the SMA, then rezoning, <br />Water for this project will be coming from Kohala Ranch. <br />The land owner representatives are willing to meet with community groups in North <br />Kohala and South Kohala for informational meetings. <br />Kohala Kai <br />Ala Kaha Kai - NPS will make a time line for the easement <br />They will do community meetings in North & South Kohala to get input. <br />Access Group Interfacing with the Action Committee and the County <br />NSTR <br />New Items <br />The National Park Service, Ala Kahakai NHT will be holding Trail Identification <br />Workshops on state lands in North Kohala. <br />They are requesting dates from the community for these hikes. <br />Next meeting <br />September 3, 2014; 4:30pm at Old Courthouse <br />
