Ashida: OK. \[Unclear\] but instead of just going three: Waiakeauka, Kaumana <br />like that – just say three guys from Hilo and three guys from Kona. <br /> <br />Man: \[Unclear\] <br /> <br />Man: District one. <br /> <br />L. Ashida: District one is two guys from Hamakua; two guys Kau, Puna, three <br />guys Kau, Puna. Something like that…You know that way you can – I know – I <br />just thinking out loud. <br /> <br />S. Araujo: Being a member of the public I did this – all of this before. I am not <br />going to do it again! OK. I agree, I agree \[unclear\]. No, I agree with him because <br />before we \[unclear\] the County Council used to have at-large positions. Those at- <br />large positions – those guys could go around the island. OK. Not only for votes <br />but they could, they had kind of like one reign with everybody. If this committee is <br />prohibited to a certain section – I mean you kind of from a District 5 – where you <br />go hunt in District 5. No more. \[Unclear\] Oh! \[Unclear\] <br /> <br />L. Ashida: Listen, I just thought of something else… <br /> <br />Man: \[Unclear\] <br /> <br />L. Ashida: ….when you back in for a Charter amendment you should annex this <br />specific department and put language there that there shall be adequate funds <br />appropriated for the purpose of the GMAC. Put in a funding mechanism in place <br />because that – bring it to the voters that way the county has to fund you. <br /> <br />M. Bartell: Hey, Lincoln, this is Mark. I agree. <br /> <br />L. Ashida: Yeah. <br /> <br />M. Bartell: I think spot on, man. <br /> <br />L. Ashida: Perfect. <br /> <br />M.Bartell: I think that if we could get additional funding and a little wiggle room on <br />members it would help. <br /> <br />L. Ashida: This is what I’m suggesting, because as long as you communicate <br />with me there’s no Sunshine Law problem. OK. So I would suggest that all of you <br />just spend a couple minutes thinking about things you would like to see done <br />differently with our board, things that you would like to see changed – doesn’t <br />have to be the membership and the funding we just talked about – just email me <br /> 30 <br /> <br />
