Registration Deadline Extended for October 18 Keiki Triathlon in Kailua-Kona

Hawaii County News Release Keiki Triathlon October 2, 2014 Page 2 The Keiki Triathlon will be part of the Mayor's 2014 Health Fest, which will be held from 9 a.m. until noon October 18 at Kekuaokalani Gymnasium located within Kailua Park. Designed to promote public health and wellness, the free event will feature health screenings, live demonstrations, informational booths, and keiki activities. Kailua Park, including the athletic fields, Kekuaokalani Gymnasium, and the Kona Community Aquatic Center, will be closed to the general public while the triathlon is occurring. Also, the northern end of Kuakini Highway, along with the makai sections of Loloko Street and Makala Boulevard, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7.30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on October 18. The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks park users and the general public for their patience and understanding while the temporary closures are implemented to ensure the safety of the keiki athletes.
