Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />October 15, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />(CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 A.M.) <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />The commission will meet in executive session to consult with Corporation Counsel on <br />questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, <br />and liabilities; to consider discipline and charges against officers or employees of the <br />Hawaii Police Department; and to consider sensitive matters relating to public safety <br />pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />INVESTIGATION AND DELIBERATION OF COMPLAINTS (briefly summarized) <br />• HPC 14-22: Complainant alleged that an officer minimized the assault on her, showed <br />her no courtesy, and did not contact her to follow-up on her case (continued from <br />previous meeting). <br />• HPC 14-23: Complainant was involved in a traffic stop. She alleged that an officer <br />racially profiled her and wrongly cited her for cell phone use. <br />• HPC 14-26: Complainant alleged that when an officer issued a citation, he did not <br />check to see that the license plate did not match the vehicle. <br />• HPC 14-28: Complainant was arrested for DUI. He alleged that an officer targeted him <br />personally during the traffic stop. He also complained about the procedures. <br />• HPC 14-29: Complainant was involved in a traffic stop.
