Van Bergen <br />Deputy Director <br />Vision for New Waimea District Park to be <br />Presented to Community October 15 <br />Hawaii County's vision for a new Waimea District Park will be presented to <br />the community during a public informational meeting set for 6:30 p.m. <br />Wednesday, October 15, in Waimea. <br />The meeting will be held at the Mana Christian `Ohana center across from <br />the Kahilu Town Theatre located at 67-1182 Lindsey Road and behind the <br />Parker Ranch Shopping Center. <br />Department of Parks and Recreation representatives will update the <br />project's status and timeline, provide renderings of what the initial phase of <br />park development will look like, and answer questions. <br />Located behind the former Parker Ranch headquarters building and <br />reached via Ala `Ohi`a Road, the 28 -acre site is slated to become a master - <br />planned facility offering diverse indoor and outdoor recreational activities. <br />Plans call for constructing multiple athletic fields and a comfort station; a <br />covered play court with storage, concession area and restrooms; a multi- <br />use building for community functions; and children's playground equipment. <br />Parking and landscaping also will be provided. <br />For more information, please contact Jason Armstrong, Public Information <br />Officer, at 961-8311 or iarmstronq�a hawaiicountgov. <br />-30- <br />County of Hawai'i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
