Van Bergen <br />Deputy Director <br />`Ahalanui Park to Reopen October 13 <br />The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation will reopen <br />`Ahalanui Park in lower Puna on Monday, October 13. <br />Damage caused by recent Tropical Storm Iselle created hazardous <br />conditions in the park, prompting Hawaii County to close the park's popular <br />warm pond as a safety precaution. <br />General contractor William C. Loeffler Construction Inc. repaired the storm - <br />damaged rock walls and concrete walkways forming the pond's perimeter <br />and removed debris deposited into the swimming area. <br />The Department of Parks and Recreation thanks William C.
