INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />An ordinance amending Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), Article 5 of the Hawai‘i County Code 1983 <br />(2005 Edition, as amended), relating to zoning district regulations for dwellings within the <br />Industrial-Commercial Mixed (MCX) zoning district. The purpose of this amendment is to allow <br />multiple family residential dwelling units within the MCX zoning district. <br /> <br />The Commission took up this item at 10:00 a.m. with one person from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown stated that the Planning Director had requested a continuance since details were still <br />being worked out. <br /> <br />Commissioner Whittemore moved to continue this item until the Planning Director’s proposal is <br />ready for the Commission’s consideration. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Nobriga, <br />and carried by a roll call vote with four ayes (Whittemore, Nobriga, Kaholo and Beaudet) and one <br />absent and excused (Hickcox). <br /> <br />MINUTES – The Commission took up the following minutes at 10:04 a.m.: <br /> <br />May 15, 2014 – It was moved by Commissioner Whittemore and seconded by Commissioner <br />Kaholo that the minutes be approved as submitted. The motion was unanimously carried by a voice <br />vote. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS – The Commission took up the following matters at 10:05 a.m.: <br /> <br /> <br />1.Status of applications heard by Leeward Planning Commission that are pending before County <br />Council – There were no updates. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS – Staff announced that the next meeting was scheduled for August 21, 2014. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT – There being no further business, at 10:06 a.m., Commissioner Whittemore <br />moved to adjourn the meeting, and the motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Noriko Sauer, Secretary <br /> <br />A T T E S T: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Brandi Beaudet, Chairman <br />Leeward Planning Commission <br />2 <br /> <br />
