4. DISCUSSION /ACTION REGARDING PROPOSED RECOMMENDATIONS AND <br />FORMAT AND CONTENTS OF FINAL REPORT <br />Includes discussion /action on the proposed recommendations and format of the <br />final report. <br />A. Develop and implement a computer tracking system for County vehicles <br />within significant departments and /or County -wide. Mileage reports are <br />to be mandated and timely. <br />B. Explore the use of hubs in areas where there is major population growth. <br />Example: Add a bus line for the Kona - Kealakehe- Airport corridor. This <br />region also includes the West Hawaii Civic Center, Honokohau Harbor, <br />the new Kaiser Permanente building, and the planned West Hawaii <br />Community College at Palamanui, on schedule to open for the fall of 2015 <br />to serve approximately 700 students. <br />C. Implement a vehicle pool program, using computer /internet based <br />reservation system to reduce number of department fleets and gain <br />improved efficiency of vehicle use. <br />D. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more than <br />a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated. A commission member(s) <br />will be present at the following location: <br />• Kona Council Room, Conference Room A, West Hawai'i Civic <br />Center, 74 -5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building A, Kailua -Kona, <br />Hawaii 96740.
