<br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 4, 2014 <br /> <br />The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:04 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawai‘i, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with Chairman <br />Myles Miyasato presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Myles Miyasato, Charles Heaukulani, Gregory Henkel, Donald <br />Ikeda, Raylene Moses, and Stephen Ono. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Danny Patel (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Windward Planning Commission), Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner), Sarah <br />Hata-Finley (Commission Secretary), and Melissa Dacayanan (Planning Commission Support <br />Technician). <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Chairman Miyasato introduced staff and Windward Planning <br />Commissioners to members of the public and went over the procedure for public testimony. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANT:STEVEN SHROPSHIRE, SHROPSHIRE GROUP, LLC(SMA 14-058) <br /> <br />Application for a Special Management Area Use Permit to allow the consolidation of 4 lots <br />and its subdivision into 10 lots and a road lot with related improvements. The subject <br />property is located along the north (makai) side of the Hawai‛i Belt Highway (State Highway <br />19) fronting the Mile Marker 19 at Waikaumalo, North Hilo, Hawai‘i, TMK: 3-2-005:002, <br />003, 004 & 005. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:04 a.m. with 18 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />This item ended at 10:15 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />2.APPLICANTS: MELVIN AND BRENDA MORRIS (REZ 14-180) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from an Agricultural 3-acre (A-3a) to a Family <br />Agricultural-1 acre (FA-1a) zoning district for 3.001 acres of land.
