Van Bergen <br />Deputy Director <br />Public Input Sought on Proposed Harbor <br />Improvements at Mahukona Beach Park <br />The County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation announces a public hearing <br />to gather community input regarding proposed small boat harbor improvements at <br />Mahukona Beach Park in North Kohala. <br />Date: Thursday, June 18 <br />Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. <br />Location: Kamehameha Park Intergenerational Center, Kapa`au <br />Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will present an overview of the <br />North Kohala Navigation Improvements Study and its different options for constructing a <br />new boat ramp and breakwater at Mahukona Beach Park. Costs, benefits and impacts <br />of each alternative will be discussed. <br />Park users, swimmers, boaters, community members and others will be invited to offer <br />feedback on the various options.
