Communication No. 2015 -25 <br />PCDP Subcommittee on Connectivity and Emergency Response <br />Meeting — May 26, 2015 Keaau Community Center <br />5:00 p.m. <br />MINUTES <br />Call to Order: 5:00 p.m. <br />Minutes approved as read (April 28, 2015). <br />Old Business: <br />• Update on Ad hoc Committee on Connectivity and Emergency Response <br />initiated by Gregor Ilagan <br />Ilagan continues to work on draft for committee and plans to introduce to <br />Council at July's meeting <br />Need to schedule meetings with the following: <br />• Representative San Buenaventura <br />• Representative Onishi <br />• Senator Ruderman <br />• Representative Gabbard <br />• Senator Schatz <br />• Discussion of Reprioritizing of Connectivity Locations Report including <br />input from May 2014 -April 2015. PREP Fair, testimonies from PCDP, <br />emails, letters, input during CERS meetings <br />New Business: <br />Discussion of Highway 11 Closure Concerns — May 11, 2015 as follows: <br />tree fell across the road at the 16 mile marker, detour produced but bus <br />went off road thus blocking detour, after 2 hours 1 -lane opened onto <br />Highway 11. Emphasized need for connecting roads between Volcano <br />and Keaau throughout subdivisions. <br />Open Discussion on Topics of Concern to CERS members and others in <br />attendance: Reemphasized need to look at successful federal models, e.g. <br />Patsy Mink's to make necessary road connections. <br />Next Meeting: June 23, 2015, 5:00 p.m., Location: Keaau Community Center <br />Adjournment: 5:30 p.m. <br />
