Senior Companion <br />41st Recognition Luncheon <br /> <br />This year the Senior Companion Program is <br />celebrating the 41st volunteer recognition <br />luncheon on Oahu at the Ala Moana Hotel, <br />on May 21 and 22, 2015. This special <br />recognition luncheon is a joint luncheon with <br />the Foster Grandparent Program which is <br />celebrating the 50th anniversary. Special <br />guests at the event include First Lady, Dawn <br />Ige, who will be reading the Governor’s <br />Proclamation, and Wendy Spencer, CEO of <br />Corporation of National and Community Services. <br />Four of Big Island’s seniorcompanions, <br />will be attending this event,they are <br />Odetta Peralta, Edith Miller, Shirley <br />Stillman, and Adoracion Agregado. <br /> <br />WANT TO BE A SENIOR COMPANION?? <br />If you have time available in your days and wish to make a tremendous difference in <br />someone’s life, while earning addition income, you are just the person we are looking for! <br /> <br />CSE has been assisting the Department of Human Services, Senior Companion Program for <br />over 30 years and validates the importance of independent living. Think about it, now you can <br />help others stay independent too. <br /> <br />Senior Companions can expect to provide services like <br />transportation, escorting to and from appointments and errands, simple meal preparation, <br />medication reminders, assisting with reading mail and other documents, personal care and socialization. <br /> <br />The benefits of becoming a Senior Companion are compensation with a non-taxable stipend, <br />meal allowance, transportation allowance, annual physical exam, paid training, vacation and <br />sick leave, accident and liability insurance and an annual recognition.
