Hawai‘i Police Commission <br />Regular Session Minutes <br />April 24, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />ACTION ON EXECUTIVE SESSION MATTERS <br /> Investigation of Complaints <br /> Complaint HPC 15-01: Complainant alleged that an officer extorted money from <br />him after a vehicle accident. Vice Chair Bertsch motioned that there was <br />insufficient evidence to prove the complainant’s allegations of misconduct. <br />Commissioner Hendricks seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br /> Complaint HPC 15-02: Complainant alleged that an officer threw him to the <br />ground with such force that his teeth came out. Commissioner Morioka motioned <br />that there was insufficient evidence to prove the complainant’s allegations of <br />misconduct. Commissioner Hendricks seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br /> Complaint HPC 15-04: Complainant alleged that an officer was unprofessional <br />during a traffic stop. Commissioner Hendricks motioned that there was <br />insufficient evidence to prove the complainant’s allegations of misconduct. <br />Commissioner Hilton seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br /> Complaint HPC 15-05: Complainant alleged that the officer should have used his <br />discretion and not cited him for parking in a prohibited area. Vice Chair Bertsch <br />motioned that there was insufficient evidence to prove the complainant’s <br />allegations of misconduct. Commissioner Hilton seconded, and it carried <br />unanimously. <br /> Evaluation of Police Chief Harry Kubojiri: Vice Chair Bertsch motioned to table this <br />to the next meeting. Commissioner Morioka seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Chair Schutte announced that the Police Commission’s next monthly meeting will be <br />on Friday, May 15, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., in the West Hawai‘i Civic Center, 74-5044 <br />Ane Keohokalole Hwy., Kailua-Kona, HI. <br /> Collection of files and documents (done). <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The meeting was adjourned at 1:20 p.m. <br />SUBMITTED BY: JOSIE PELAYO, SECRETARY <br />APPROVED BY: GUY K.
