<br />38 John Mueller suggested contacting Roger Harris to let him know that <br />39 they are going to have a meeting and that they’d like to know what his <br />40 ideas are. <br />41 b.General Plan Comprehensive Review – Jojo Tanimoto, Joel Cohen, John <br /> <br />42 Mueller – The Subcommittee will report on discussions on potential <br />43 amendments and comments to the General Plan Comprehensive Review <br />44 which will be forwarded to the Planning Department. <br />45 John Mueller reported on the Waikoloa Community Meeting regarding <br />46 the General Plan Update and he directed everyone to his hand out “South <br />47 Kohala Community Turns Out to Comment on the County General Plan.” <br />48 Joel Cohen reported that he had a meeting with Margaret Wille at the <br />49 Waimea Civic Center. There were 30 people in attendance and most of <br />50 them were directly involved with organizations. He said they spoke <br />51 about cultural education, renewable energy, recycling, education, <br />52 farming, low cost housing, pedestrian trails, countywide transportation, <br />53 water, and shelters. He said the bottom line is that there is a lot of <br />54 participation from people and a lot of enthusiasm. <br />55 Jojo Tanimoto had no report. Diane Kaneali’i asked Jojo if there had been <br />56 any meetings scheduled to meet in Kawaihae, and Jojo explained that <br />57 they originally started out meeting there, but no one came to those <br />58 meetings. Diane explained that she had not been aware of any meetings, <br />59 and said that it’s hard to participate when no one is being informed. <br />60 They continued to discuss the subcommittee, and Diane Kaneali’i <br />61 volunteered to assist Jojo with the General Plan Update Subcommittee <br />62 and the Kawaihae Liaison Group. <br />63 c.Other Reports – <br /> <br />64 There was some clarification and discussion in regard to the letter Diane <br />65 drafted to simplify the process of getting information from other <br />66 community meetings. Diane clarified the need of a list of who to send this <br />67 letter to. John Mueller asked each of the members to think about the <br />68 community, and what are some groups that they feel would be <br />69 interested in sharing their minutes. Joel Cohen brought up the idea of <br />70 having each member having point of contacts throughout the community <br />71 to create a communication network. <br />72 Jojo asked that they have a discussion on changing the password on the <br />73 email address next time. John brought up the G-Mail account, and that <br />74 there is the issue of the Sunshine Law.
