<br /> Kohala Shoreline, LLC <br /> <br /> <br />Draft EA is delayed to get new studies done. <br /> <br />Water quality <br /> <br />It will take about 1 week to get the draft EA back, and then it will go to planning department for <br />review, probably sometime in May or June. <br /> <br />Public comment period is 30 days after it is recorded with OQEC. <br />o <br /> <br />The Alaloa goes over archeological site. <br /> <br />The landowners will work with Ala Kaha Kai to re-rout the trail <br />o <br /> <br />There's a deeded easement 6' or 10' along the shoreline from an earlier subdivision that was granted. <br /> <br />The landowners don't support or would propose vehicular access. <br /> <br />Property access points will happen in the future when other permits are granted. <br /> <br />Engineers will consider entrances & acceleration or deceleration lanes. <br /> <br />It would be good if all agencies & the community would meet to get on the same page regarding <br />access points. <br /> <br />Public parking as proposed may be an issue and may need to be moved to a reasonable area. <br />o <br /> <br />This project is all in the state land use Urban district zone 15,000 sq. ft. <br /> <br />It is zoned R3a under the county zoning. <br /> <br />The landowners are proposing 9 lots. <br /> <br />Dr. Rechman wanted to thank the people for their input during the site visits. <br /> <br />He will use it to consider in the EA <br /> <br />Cultural impact statement is done by records and orally (people to share their knowledge) <br /> <br />The public access plan calls for sunrise to sunset for fishing & gathering. <br /> <br />Comment for landowners to not use rocks from site to build stonewalls. <br /> <br />The landowners are open to community comments. <br /> Kohala Kai <br /> <br /> <br />3 lots are listed <br /> <br />Conservation easement - Ala Kaha Kai trail association & the landowner still need to talk and come <br />up with an agreement. <br /> <br />Need an update from the county or landowner on why is the access parking lot gate closed <br /> Kohala Waterfront <br /> <br /> <br />The lateral trail is over the rocks and should be moved more mauka because the high water mark has <br /> <br />moved inland. <br /> <br />The certified shoreline will come up for comments with OQEC, regarding 2 lots that are being <br /> <br />surveyed. <br /> <br />Community should comment at that time. <br /> Access Group Interfacing with the Action Committee and the County <br /> <br /> <br />Our letter went to the action committee, who will then send it to the planning director. <br /> New Items <br /> <br /> <br />Should we discuss mauka access <br /> <br />We should discuss what goes into a GOE. <br /> Next meeting <br /> <br /> <br />May 6, 2015; 4:30pm at Old Courthouse <br />Page | 2 <br /> <br />
