Nutrition Program Highlights <br />Carla Carpenter Kabalis, Program Director, (808) 961-8726 <br />Michael Au, Community Service Program Assistant II, (808) 961-8726 <br /> <br />The Hawai‘i County Nutrition Program (HCNP) provides two nutrition services <br />for the seniors of Hawai‘i County: Congregate Meals and Meals on Wheels. <br />HCNP operates 15 Congregate group dining sites located throughout Hawai‘i <br />County. Congregate meals are provided to persons 60 years and older, and <br />their spouses regardless of age. For more information on the Hawai‘i County <br />Nutrition Program, call 961-8726. <br /> <br />Ocean View, Nā‘ālehu and Pāhala Nutrition District <br /> <br />Celebration at Honuapo <br />It was a beautiful sunny day at Honuapo while the men showcased their musical <br />talents by singing and playing music for all to enjoy. Zachery DeBernardi shared <br />stories about living by Honuapo. The Kupuna reminisced about the old plantation days <br />of working in the sugar mill, and then relaxing at Honuapo swimming in the pond and <br />fishing off of the pier that once was. A combined effort from staff who work in the <br />Ka‘ū district prepared for this wonderful get-together, thanks to Dick, <br />Edie, Julie, Margaret and Terry. <br /> <br />Kupuna News 13 October-December 2015
