Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />October 16, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the public.) <br />The commission will meet in executive session to consult with Corporation Counsel on <br />questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, <br />immunities, and liabilities; to consider discipline and charges against officers or <br />employees of the Hawai'i Police Department; to consider sensitive matters relating to <br />public safety; and to work on the annual evaluation of the Police Chief pursuant to HRS <br />92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawai'i County Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />Consideration of complaints received after 90 -day filing deadline (briefly summarized) <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-17: <br />Reason for late filing <br />- poverty, hopelessness. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-18: <br />Reason for late filing <br />- has been occupied. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-21: <br />Reason for late filing <br />- no request or reason. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-25: <br />Reason for late filing <br />- sick. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-28: <br />Reason for late filing <br />- office closed on weekend. <br />• Investigation and deliberation of complaints (briefly summarized) <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-26: Complainant alleged that an officer was rude and <br />disrespectful when he responded to a false 911 call. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-32: Complainant alleged that an officer who blocked the <br />road to her home during a storm should have allowed them to drive through. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-33: Complainant alleged that he was not provided medical <br />attention following an accident. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 15-34: Complainant alleged that an officer disrespected him <br />when he hung the phone up on him. <br />• Status report of referred and internal complaints <br />• The commission will work on the annual evaluation of Police Chief Harry Kubojiri <br />(OPEN SESSION) <br />ACTION ON COMPLAINTS <br />• HPC 15-17 <br />• HPC 15-18 <br />• HPC 15-21 <br />• HPC 15-25 <br />• HPC 15-28 <br />
