The letter announced the upcoming meeting on September 291h, as <br />well as what has been done by the community over the past month to <br />address the issue of medical marijuana production in North Kohala. <br />BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE <br />No items to report. <br />SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS <br />a. Growth Management: Jon Adams had no report since there was no <br />meeting. <br />b. Public Access: Report by Keone MacKillop. <br />Akoakoa Point - a new USGS benchmark is needed, and it's being <br />looked into. <br />Hapu'u Kapanaia - this has been consolidated for the open space <br />purchase funds and things are looking very good right now and <br />moving along. <br />Pahoa Beach - there are still some issues that need to be taken care of. <br />Kaiholena - one week away from closing, finishing up. <br />Kohala Shoreline - there have been comments sent into the Planning <br />Department. That's in the works. <br />Kohala Kai - they are currently waiting for Kaiholena to finish up. <br />c. Water, Parks, and Roads: Report by John Winter <br />John Winter brought up the three incidents recently where Akoni Pule <br />Highways has had traffic interrupted. He explained that they are <br />working on ways to repair the bridge and manage to open up Pratt Rd. <br />to Hawi as an emergency access route. He announced that there will <br />be a meeting for property owners only on September 301h. There will <br />also be a public meeting regarding community access on October 141h, <br />at 5 pm. There will be a notification in the Kohala Mountain News <br />about the meeting in October. <br />
