The event <br />showcased cooking <br />demos by George <br />Yoshida, Derek Kurisu <br />(pictured top right) and <br />Roann Okamura as well <br />as, resources, crafting <br />(pictured top left) and <br />fun games were held in <br />the Puna Butler building. <br /> <br />Kea‘au’s Kumihimo Class <br />doing demonstrations at the <br />Japanese Cultural Day at <br />Sangha Hall (pictured left) <br /> <br />Kamana’s Annual Halloween <br />bash at Aunty Sally’s (pictured <br />left & above) <br /> <br />Lei Hulu’s Graduation Lu‘au at Sangha Hall (pictured above). <br />Uniki of 12 students under the direction of Master Doreen Henderson <br />with displays of their required feather lei work adorned the hall. <br /> <br />The 2016 Senior <br />Karaoke Recital <br />was held at Aunty <br />Sally’s Lu‘au Hale <br />and showcased 20 <br />talented seniors <br />from Kamana <br />Karaoke Club. <br /> <br />Halloween brought out all of the spooks at Old Airport Park for the Ground Golf Spooktacular! 85 seniors from around the isla nd came <br />to Kona for a game of ground golf & some scary fun. The Kona Mauka Rotary Club sponsored the event providing volunteers, prizes and <br />a bite to eat. Longest Putt Winners: Andy Oshita & Agnes Kaholo (Pictured below left) and Hole In One Winners: Narcy Blair, Ramon <br />Arreguin, Irene Kauwe, Max Guitang (pictured below right). Congratulations to our Spooktacular participants! <br /> <br />Congratulations to the Kona Legends on their tournament victory in Las Vegas! <br />The 2015 World Masters Championship Softball Tournament will be one the Kona Legends will <br />always remember. With a roster of only 11 players, they set out to sunny Las Vegas with just one <br />thing on their mind, win a ring. Because of their limited roster, the best thing that could happen for <br />the Legends would be to go undefeated and win five straight games in the double elimination <br />tournament. They did just that, winning against teams from California, Oregon, Colorado, and <br />Maui. Congratulations to the Kona Legends for bringing home the Men’s 60-AA Championship. <br /> <br />upuna News 7 January-March 2016
