Communication No. 2016 -5 <br />PAHOA REGIONALTOWN CENTER PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE <br />January 4, 2016, 8:00 am <br />Luquin's Restaurant <br />MEETING NOTES <br />Present: Mark Hinshaw. Madie Greene, Patti Pinto, Jon Olson, Jon McElveney <br />Parking Lots and Restrooms: <br />No Change <br />Post Office Road Dedication: <br />No Change <br />Design Review Committee: <br />Jon McElveney expressed concern about the duties of the review committee and his workload. Mark <br />clarified that Jon would be able to serve as a design consultant. <br />Bryson Protect: <br />Jon updated the committee on the progress of the Bryson project, with greater detail about the <br />buildings and kinds of businesses they will be seeking to populate the development. There will be a pull <br />out bus stop on the Village road side of the shopping center, a total of 4 entrance /exits, two on Kahakai, <br />2 on Pahoa Village Road. An agreement has been confirmed with the anchor super market, to be <br />announced soon. The shopping center will have the space for one drive through type business. <br />He discussed the wastewater treatment facilities that will be required for the Market and other <br />businesses. <br />Jon agreed to lend a hand in the Post Office Road and Lava Viewing projects. He can put in a word for <br />the improvements to Post Office Road and appreciates that a Lava Viewing Area would bring more <br />people to Pahoa which would be a benefit for Pahoa merchants. <br />
