<br /> <br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />JANUARY 7, 2016 <br /> <br />The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:00 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawai‘i, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with <br />Vice-Chairman Gregory Henkel presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Gregory Henkel, Donald Ikeda, Myles Miyasato, and Raylene <br />Moses. <br /> <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: Donn Dela Cruz and Charles Heaukulani. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Danny Patel (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Windward Planning Commission), Kelly Gomes (representing the Department of <br />Public Works, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:52 a.m.), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), Jeff <br />Darrow (Staff Planner), Christian Kay (Staff Planner), and Sarah Hata-Finley (Commission <br />Secretary). <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Vice-Chairman Henkel introduced Windward Planning Commissioners <br />and staff to members of the public, and went over the procedures for public testimony. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANT: SIDNEY T. MIZUKAMI REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST (SPP 09-96) <br />Amendment to Special Permit No. 09-000096 to allow for a 10-year extension to the life of <br />permit to allow for the continued use of the property and existing agricultural building for the <br />parking, deployment and storing of equipment and materials associated with a <br />telecommunications cable installation business located in the Wainaku Farms Subdivision, <br />approximately 650 feet south of the intersection of Kulana Kea Drive and Kaohu Lehua <br /> <br />Place, Wainaku, South Hilo, Hawaiʽi, : 2-6-032:015. <br />TMK <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:01 a.m. with 6 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />This item ended at 9:11 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />2.APPLICANT: MILO STREET VENTURES INC. (SLU-15-045/REZ-15-197) <br />Applications for a State Land Use Boundary Amendment from the Agricultural to the Urban <br />District and a Change of Zone from an Agricultural-20 acres (A-20a) to a Limited Industrial- <br />20,000 square feet (ML-20) zoning district for approximately 2.082 acres of land.
