<br />81 limited by the September deadline, and that they can continue to be <br />82 engaged as things go along. <br />83 Discussion continued about the Kawaihae and Puako subcommittee <br />84 meetings and the General Plan. <br />85 b.Long Term Education Planning – Joel Cohen <br /> <br />86 John Mueller explained that this subcommittee was created to be a <br />87 generating force for discussions with the state and community. John <br />88 wondered where they are to go from here, and brought up a possible <br />89 meeting between the three of them. Discussion continued between John, <br />90 Joel, and Roger about education and higher education, and the relation to <br />91 the General Plan. Eventually, the long-term education committee decided <br />92 to meet as a group in the upcoming month. <br />93 Other Reports <br />94 Liaison Reports: <br />95 1.Waikoloa – John Mueller had no report. <br /> <br />96 2.Puako – George Robertson explained that they are going to <br /> <br />97 meet with the consultant on the sewer cesspool replacement <br />98 plan at the end of August. There will be two meetings, one <br />99 with the folks at Puako, and a community meeting the <br />100 following weekend where they will lay out what the <br />101 consultant comes up with. Discussion continued about the <br />102 possibility of getting back on the CIP list for Planning. <br />103 3.Waimea/Waimea Community Association – Joel Cohen had a <br /> <br />104 written report from the recent Subcommittee meeting as part <br />105 of the materials distributed to the Action Committee. He <br />106 explained the main emphasis was that Duane Kanuha <br />107 attended the meeting. Joel also discussed the relocation of the <br />108 Waimea Farmer’s Market to Waimea Elementary and Middle <br />109 School beginning on August 1. <br />st <br />110 4.Kawaihae/Homestead Community Association – Jojo <br /> <br />111 Tanimoto had a written report as part of the materials <br />112 distributed to the Action Committee. The report included two <br />113 questions regarding more funding for the Big Island, should <br />114 the AC be asking the county council? Jojo also brought up <br />115 updating the CDP. Discussion continued about whether or not <br />116 this should be put on the agenda. John Mueller explained that <br />117 if Jojo wants a discussion, then there needs to be a request to <br />118 put it on the agenda, and that there will need to be enough <br />119 information for the Action Committee to make an informed <br />120 decision. Discussion continued about the Action Committee <br />121 making changes to the CDP, but it may be best to address that <br />122 when the General Plan Review is complete.
