TAX BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />Appeal Hearings <br />Tuesday, August 7, 2012 <br />West Hawai'i Civic Center <br />Department of Liquor Control Conference Room <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Albert Kualii called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. <br />Present were: Board Members Albert Kualii, Wesley Takai, Scott Church and Michael <br />D'Amico; Deputy Corporation Counsel Craig Masuda; Real Property Tax Administrator <br />Stanley Sitko; Real Property Tax Appraisal Supervisor Jon Pike and Board Secretary <br />Elizabeth Nina Swain. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />There were no statements from the public. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Board Members were provided with copies of the July 10tH 11tH 18th and 19th meeting <br />minutes. Corrections were noted as follows: <br />July 19 Page 1 Case No. 19069, TMK 2-4-050-018-0000 <br />Mr. Takai stated that the motion also included the fact that the Board did not act on the <br />constitutional issue as it was out of the Board's jurisdiction. Motion to read as follows: <br />"Mr. Takai moved to sustain the County's assessment and the Board not act on the <br />constitutional issue as it is out of the Board's jurisdiction." <br />No further corrections were discussed. <br />Mr. Takai moved to accept the minutes as reviewed with the addition of the July 19th <br />correction. Seconded by Mr. D'Amico. A call for discussion was made. Motion <br />passed by a vote of 4:0. <br />TAX APPEAL CASE HEARINGS <br />Note: <br />Prior to the start of the case hearings, Deputy Corporation Counsel, Craig Masuda, advised <br />all Appellants and the Department of the appointment of Board Members as private citizens <br />
