P. Aughe explained that Dr. Oguss wanted to give a presentation on people working <br />with pets. <br />The committee will try and schedule him for the May 18th meeting. <br />R. Dinges wanted to know if it is possible (on the agenda) to say "statements from the <br />public" instead of statements from the public on agenda items <br />P. Aughe said that statements from the pubic on agenda items is a separate item. <br />Under the announcements section is where the public can make statements on non - <br />agenda items. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Jessie Floyd suggested that ADRC as a resource center, should put together a booklet <br />of services that different agencies within East Hawaii can offer people with disabilities. <br />P. Aughe agreed that maybe at the next meeting, the committee could make a <br />suggestion to Dr. Alameda about information in a booklet or online <br />S. Shirachi asked if it would be possible at the next meeting, to ask Dr. Alameda about <br />county residence for people with medical disabilities. <br />Report on the Recreation Ad Hoc Committee. <br />Karen Reidel read the Ad Hoc Committee Report (see attachment) <br />K. Reidel wanted to seek the approval of the committee and have a vote to provide <br />these priorities to the Mayor and to encourage him to take action. <br />J Yoshimoto informed the committee that they can vote. He suggested that someone <br />should draft a letter documenting what the committee wants to communicate to the <br />Mayor then review before sending it. <br />S. Shirachi suggested that the transition plan be discussed before the committee <br />makes a vote. <br />Teri Spinola-Campbell said to contact Parks and Rec to request someone in the <br />planning division to give a presentation with a timeline or it rolling out. <br />J said that he would follow up with Parks, get that documentation and can email <br />everybody so that you can review it ahead of time. <br />J also suggested that between now and the next meeting if the Ad Hoc committee could <br />submit a draft letter, then we can take a look at the transition plan and letter. <br />2 <br />
