AD -Hoc Committee Notes <br />Here are the main AD-HOC Committee notes to present to the next MCPD <br />meeting on April 20th <br />The Ad -HOC committee met March 23, 2016. We discussed: <br />Zoo Access Tour: Participants: Kauila and Gail, Chris and Linda, Paul and <br />Karin, Alisa <br />Please note that an access plan for the Zoo exists but has not been fully <br />implemented... Our goals for the field trip were to: <br />Gather and Exchange Information <br />Inquire how we can help <br />Create a list for further action <br />Have Fun and Relax <br />A Th.a.4„ tc ` k e j c a.s Se t~ d 4-0 Mc. km fl t zin.,, rociI <br />ego"(fee a(or vbr- <br />-c r sae 2o, <br />The highest priorities were safety concerns: add seat belts for the tram <br />passenger's seat and replace harness straps that hold wheelchairs in place <br />in the back section of the tram. Other suggestions were to create: clear <br />online access information, additional accessible parking, improved access <br />to picnic table areas, and training and collaboration with Friends of the Zoo <br />to enhance inclusive educational and volunteer opportunities. <br />Seek MCPD APPROVAL: CALL FOR A VOTE to provide these priorities to <br />the Mayor and encourage him to implement the existing transition plan to <br />improve ADA access within the Panaewa complex. <br />The Ad -Hoc Committee also discussed a recreation webpage to list <br />program access information and announcements. We're seeking input on <br />what to include on this info page. <br />A Certificate of Appreciation for Stephanie Kovatch was recommended for <br />her pioneer work with Deep and Beyond Snorkel Days. <br />
