Draft H -am akua CDP <br />Community SpeakOuts <br />April g, 2o16 / April 23, 2o16 / May 7, 2o16 <br />Who Takes Actior <br />■ Like to see some "teeth" - when city agency contacted; no response <br />-MAMA (Mauka Makai Access Hamakua Ag Plan) still intact & able to mobilize if have reason to & <br />wants to be heard. <br />Need ag support - resources, information, marketing support <br />Need to work with developer to lower construction cost to aid availability of affordable housing. <br />-Residential housing village should be allowed/considered. <br />-Multi-generational use houses - expanding current'Ohana housing to allow for multi -kitchen <br />Support community growth - no commercial growth <br />Make presentations at Ahualoa Community Association - Meeting to gather input/information <br />Create systems that perpetuate & maintain what we already know - what we innately know but <br />have forgotten; avoid the current status of keep starting over only to fail again; adopt ways & <br />methods that return us to basic know-how that works, survives & thrives <br />-Simple & genuine <br />Hawaiian Cultural Center & Community Center/Space <br />-Talking with Heritage Center + <br />-Goal: Central place for visitors <br />-Intro <br />-Maps (points of interest) - send out; connect <br />-Corridor to Coast/Waipi'o Valley <br />-Community-Owned & Operated: Independent model & co-op away from corporate; each group <br />take care of itself <br />-Started with Kickstarter: $20K for 1yr operating <br />-Place-based <br />-All Activities in-house --> $$ stays in-house <br />-Reducing some regulations & costs <br />
