We hope <br />that everyone stays cool during these upcoming hot days. <br /> <br />Call our offices at: Hilo 961-8710, Kea‘au 966-5801 and <br />Kona 323-4330 for more information about our programs, <br />or visit us online at www.hawaiicounty.gov <br /> <br />Big Island Senior Stars Talent Show <br />This year’s Big Island Senior Talent Show brought out some new <br />acts as well as some regulars that always leave the crowd wanting <br />more. Over 200 seniors from around the island attended this year’s <br />event at the Kona Maka‘eo Pavilion. Most came to show their <br />support and enjoy the talented acts from around the island. This year <br />soloists came to the stage from Kohala, Waikoloa, Waimea, Hilo and <br />Pāpa‘ikou sharing cultural dances (while balancing <br />pumpkins!), singing and even performing a song in sign language. <br />The talents of our seniors never ceases to amaze! In the group <br />categories, newcomers Hale Ho‘okipa showed off their talent <br />belting out “Mansion over the Hilltop”. Kohala got everyone <br />moving with “Hot Hot Hot” and Pomaika‘i Senior Club brought <br />a bit of high fashion (and humor) to Kona with their Ultimate <br />Fashion Show. Finally, the Waikoloa Senior Club performed <br />a rendition of “The Green Side of the Grass” and Honoka‘a <br />gave us a musical Calendar Medley. Every one of our performers <br />received a prize this year, generously donated by Big Island Candies. <br />Hats off to all of the seniors that came on stage and entertained us <br />at this year’s Talent Show!   <br /> <br />Group Winners!
