M. Lui asked if there are any extra funding for Horace's overtime? He is doing a <br />great job and he should not have to fix the data consolidation. Kimo mentioned that <br />the data consolidation is affecting Horace's morale. We need to make sure that this <br />data consolidation does not affect our work. The old data is saved and can go back <br />and have 30 days, if need be. Kimo appreciates the HCOA's voice. <br />7. AGENCY AND DISTRICT REPORTS: <br />Pahoa: Dorothy Baxter said the Pahoa park is getting back on track park, and <br />looking good. The roundabout is causing some traffic delays but should be finished <br />soon. Land clearing is happening for big shopping center with library, clinic, stores, <br />dentist and eye doctor. <br />* Legal — the Legal Aid Society issues with client confidentiality were worked out. <br />* <br />* Client satisfaction surveys will be provided with referrals, and consents to collect the <br />surveys. COA is meeting monthly with LASH staff. <br />* Steve Ono asked whether HARA's chair is automatically a member of the COA. <br />HARA is concerned with succession. We clarified that it's not automatic. George Ito <br />mentioned that S. Ono also represents South Hilo. So Steve is not off the hook with <br />us! <br />* Chris Ridley, Alzheimer's Association reminded us that it's Advanced Healthcare <br />Directive day on April 16, 2016. Don't wait - review what you have and make sure <br />everyone you know has it done one. We are at 25% average to low. Update on the <br />Alzheimer's Walk; C. Ridley wants team registration, it helps her with her mission. <br />The "Longest Day" in June: This is when the Alzheimer's Association tries to honor <br />caregivers because they have long days. There are different events that are <br />happening during the month of June to help caregivers. <br />* Judy Bell update on Kona caregiver conference. Keynote speaker is Francis <br />Katagawa, September 9, 2016 at the Kona Sheraton. <br />* Teana Kahoohanohano, Regency Hilo — Update on the 100 bed skilled on <br />Kaumana Drive, Hilo, Medicaid/Medicare certified, and welcomes tours. Discussion <br />regarding the extended care facility at Hilo Medical Center; they are scaling back and <br />trying to prove there's no need for it. The building needs lots of maintenance so it's a <br />hard situation but the need exists for the facility. Meizhu suggested that we invite <br />someone from the hospital to discuss this issues. <br />8. Jim Cisler, PABEA said the LTC legislation is asleep; it still exists and will be <br />considered for next session. One issue is the unannounced inspection of licensed <br />facilities. The proposal passed committee without amendment; it is to be addressed <br />by legislature. The Kupuna Care budget was finalized and was increased mostly for <br />the Honolulu ADRC to get it up and running. Congrats to Nalani the director, she is <br />doing a great job. J. Cisler apologized he is not able to attend the 5/621016 luncheon. <br />J. Cisler is working on the state lunch. The budget is 75% there and has support. <br />Kimo mentioned that data consolidation has exposed deficiencies in other counties. <br />
