POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE AGENCY <br /> <br />2.1 Authority <br /> <br />The agency shall be entitled to those powers and duties identified within Chapter 53, <br />Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes, as amended, relating to Urban Renewal. <br /> <br />2.2 Administration <br /> <br />Pursuant to the authority granted through Section 2-35.1 of the Hawaiʻi County Code, the <br />planning department shall be the lead agency for transitional purposes until the Banyan <br />Drive Hawaiʻi Redevelopment Agency is organized and able to perform the duties <br />required under Chapter 53, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
