Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS - The Commission took up the <br />following at 11:15 a.m. <br />Ms. Jackson announced that the next Commission meeting was on August 4th with three items <br />tentatively on the agenda, including the review of the Ka`u Community Development Plan <br />(CDP). <br />Ms. Jackson also stated that she, Chairman Henkel, and Commissioner Miyasato will represent <br />the Commission at the upcoming Hawaii Congress of Planning Officials (HCPO) Conference in <br />Kauai in September. <br />Commissioner Miyasato clarified with Ms. Jackson that the Planning Commission's role for the <br />review of the Ka`u CDP was advisory. Ms. Jackson briefly explained that the Planning Director <br />will make a recommendation regarding the plan to the Commission, and that the Commission <br />will then have the opportunity to suggest amendments or additions to the plan. The <br />Commission's recommendation and amendments, if any, will subsequently be forwarded to the <br />County Council for final adoption. <br />Lastly, Director Kanuha thanked Mr. Patel for his service to the Commission and staff and <br />wished him the best of luck in his next career endeavor. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Windward Planning Commission <br />July 7, 2016 Minutes <br />
