Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />October 21, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />(CLOSED SESSION AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 A.M.) <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the public.) <br />The commission will meet in executive session to work on the annual evaluation of the <br />police chief; to consider discipline and charges against officers or employees of the <br />Hawaii Police Department; to consider sensitive matters relating to public safety; and <br />may consult with Corporation Counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the <br />commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92- <br />5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />• Discussion on the Police Chief's Annual Evaluation <br />• Consideration and Investigation of Complaints <br />(Complaints are briefly summarized.) <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-18: Complainant complained about how responding officers <br />handled her complaint. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-24: Complainant alleged that when an officer responded to a <br />call to check on her welfare, it was a violation of her privacy and rights. She also <br />complained that her apartment is a weapon -free zone, but the officer entered <br />with his gun. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-30: Complainant alleged that when he made a complaint, an <br />officer had a conflict of interest. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-33: Complainant alleged that an officer was being mean <br />when he gave her three citations for touching the solid white line on the right. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-37: Complainant was arrested for DUI, and that when he <br />returned to his vehicle, money was missing from his wallet that was left in the <br />vehicle. He alleged that the officer took it. <br />✓ Complaint HPC 16-40: Complainant alleged that prior to attending a community <br />meeting, an officer forcibly grabbed him and searched him. <br />• Status Report of Referred and Internal Complaints <br />
