12 <br />CL -5 (Connecting Hawaiian Acres and Orchidland) <br />This CL creates a connection between Hawaiian Acres and Orchidland at Orchidland's Pohaku <br />Drive. It requires the purchase of Hawaiian Acres lot TMK No. 1-6-058:080, assessed value of <br />$16,000. Comps on three acre lots in Hawaiian Acres range from $20,000 to $40,000. <br />The Pohaku Drive road lot would require improvement. The costs of these projects is unknown. <br />An MOU between Hawaiian Acres and Orchidland Estates would be required. <br />Figure 7. Connection between Hawaiian Acres and Orchidland <br />Alternates to CL -5 <br />As CL -5 presents some difficulties due to flooding at one end, and a hazardous intersection at <br />Pohaku and Highway 130, two alternatives have been proposed: <br />CL -5 Alternate `Ola`a: The County would improve `Ola`a with re -grading and paving, <br />Hawaiian Acres improving A Road to I I Road and Orchidland improving Puanani to <br />40th Avenue. This CL would provide connectivity between Hawaiian Acres and <br />Orchidland and additionally, access to Highway 11. (A field study is required to <br />determine the condition of 11 Road and A Road in Hawaiian Acres and Puanani and 40th <br />Avenue in Orchidland). <br />CL -5 Alternative Laniuma: This CL requires the acquisition of one Orchidland lot at the <br />end of Laniuma on 40th Avenue, TMK: 1-6-012:042, a 3 -acre parcel with an assessed <br />value of $26,000. Additionally the CL requires the acquisition of a connecting Hawaiian <br />Acres 3 -acre parcel on Pulelehua, TMK 1-6-060:084, with an assessed value of $16,000. <br />
