MINUTES — The Commission took this item up at 10:21 a.m. <br />Approval of Minutes of the November 3, 2016 meeting — It was moved by Commissioner Moses, <br />and seconded by Commissioner Dela Cruz, that the minutes of November 3, 2016, be approved <br />as circulated. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in <br />attendance. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS - The Commission took up the <br />following at 10:21 a.m. <br />Mr. Arai stated that the next Commission meeting was scheduled on January 5, 2017, with four <br />items tentatively on the agenda, including the election of officers for 2017. He added that the <br />tentative joint meeting with the Leeward Planning Commission had been rescheduled to take <br />place in a few months. He stated that the joint meeting was for Commission rulemaking, <br />namely, the rules for implementing the processing of Planned Unit Development (PUD) permits <br />as well as amendments to the contested case hearing rule. <br />Mr. Arai stated that it was Director Kanuha's last meeting before the Windward Planning <br />Commission, and expressed gratitude and appreciation for his sound guidance to staff and the <br />Commission. Chair Henkel also thanked Director Kanuha and added that the Director was an <br />inspiration to him not only as the Planning Director but also for his 40 years of public service to <br />the community. Commissioner Moses expressed her agreement with Chair Henkel's comments. <br />Director Kanuha presented certificates of appreciation from Mayor Kenoi to Commissioner <br />Moses and Commissioner Clarkson who reached the end of their respective terms serving on the <br />Commission [December 31, 2016] and also thanked them for their service. Mr. Arai also <br />thanked Commissioners Moses and Clarkson and said that they both would be able to holdover <br />their terms for an additional 90 days. <br />ADJOURNMENT — There being no further business, it was moved by Commissioner Moses <br />and seconded by Commissioner Dela Cruz that the meeting be adjourned. Motion was <br />unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance.
