PCDP Objective and Action Alignment Table <br />Parks and Recreation <br />3.5.2.a <br />County Action <br />Adopt the following classification for expansion and improvement of parks in Puna: <br />O <br />4) Camp Ground: An area with potable water and restroom facilities for overnight tent camping, <br />which may be available on a permit or fee-for-service basis. <br />5) Coastal Activity Area: A shoreline recreational area that is accessed by a park or a public <br />easement. <br />6) Community Park: A recreational park or facility intended to be used primarily by residents of the <br />area that is owned and maintained by the County or by a private entity with unrestricted public <br />access. <br />7) Linear Park: A recreational, non -motorized pathway (except motorized wheelchairs), which may <br />be inter -connected or within a right-of-way of an existing or new roadway, and is separated from <br />travel lanes and adjacent properties by a landscaped buffer, with occasional rest stops or viewing <br />spots. <br />8) Preserve: A site with features of significant natural or historic value that provides minimal <br />facilities for public visitation, such as interpretive signage, a walking trail and small parking area, <br />and is maintained by a stewardship program. <br />3.5.2.b <br />Aspirational <br />Encourage the collocation of schools, parks and senior centers to promote interactivity between <br />O <br />Policy <br />community members of all ages. <br />3.5.2.c <br />County Action <br />Identify lands to be used for parks in connection with subdivision interconnectivity. <br />O <br />Kikala-Keokea <br />New Park: <br />Ord. 16-73 <br />Lapse: June <br />30, 2019 <br />3.5.3.a <br />County Action <br />Consider expanding the Camp Ground at MacKenzie State Park to include public property south of <br />A <br />MacKenzie. <br />17 <br />
