Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />February 17, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br />(CLOSED SESSION AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 A.M.) <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the public.) <br />The commission will meet in executive session to consider discipline and charges <br />against officers or employees of the Hawaii Police Department, to consider sensitive <br />matters relating to public safety, and may consult with Corporation Counsel on <br />questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, <br />immunities, and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawaii County <br />Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />• Correspondence No. 17-02: Attorney Brian De Lima requests legal counsel for <br />former Officer Jody Buddemeyer who has been charged with felony offenses as a <br />result of a traffic accident in Cr. No. 16-1-331 K. <br />• Consideration and Investigation of Complaints <br />✓ HPC 16-49: Complainant alleged that an unidentified officer drove in excess of <br />70 mph. He also complained about how another officer responded to him when <br />he complained about this. <br />✓ HPC 16-50: Complainant alleged that there were discrepancies in his police <br />reports. The complaint was received more than two years from the date of the <br />incident. The commission will only consider whether to accept or decline <br />investigation due to the 90 -day filing period. <br />✓ HPC 16-51: Complainant alleged that two officers drove in excess of 70 mph. <br />✓ HPC 17-01A & B: Complainant alleged that six unidentified officers used <br />excessive force during his arrest. <br />✓ HPC 17-02: Complainant complained that officers called a tow truck to move his <br />vehicle from blocking the roadway. <br />✓ HPC 17-03: Complainant complained about the difficulties she has in trying to <br />give the police information on a house that burned down. <br />✓ HPC 17-05: Complainant alleged that an officer physically attacked her. <br />✓ HPC 17-06: Complainant alleged that an officer threatened to arrest her when <br />she refused to provide information when the officer responded to a call of her <br />walking eight unleashed dogs. <br />✓ HPC 17-07: Complainant alleged that an officer's report did not have correct <br />information. <br />0 Status Report of Referred and Internal Complaints <br />
