Nishimoto <br /> Chair, House Committee on Judiciary <br /> Hawai'i State Capitol <br /> Honolulu, HI 96813 <br /> Dear Chair Nishimoto and Members: <br /> RE: HB172, HD1 <br /> Thank you for this opportunity to testify on HB 172, HD1. <br /> Entering property of another person is always tricky, but albizia trees are a <br /> menace to surrounding areas, and HB 172, HD1 would seem to have achieved an <br /> appropriate balance between competing interests of adjacent landowners. <br /> One amendment that might be considered would be a requirement that the <br /> person eradicating the trees would also be obligated to remove the cut trees.
