Historical and Cultural Preservation — Vice -Chair Yates reported that she spoke <br />145 with many of the seniors in the community and found that they prefer to keep <br />146 their histories and stories private. Ms. Yates said she also found that the <br />147 seniors do get involved with what happens culturally in the area. Ms. Yates also <br />148 asked the committee members to select another member to lead this <br />149 subcommittee. <br />150 8. Health. Vice Chair Yates reported that she has been talking with various <br />151 individuals in the North Kohala community and a State representative about the <br />152 health care needs of North Kohala. She talked to the North Kohala Hospital and <br />153 found out that they have a new parking lot and medical equipment <br />154 improvements and said that people are generally not aware of the services <br />155 available at North Kohala Hospital. <br />156 <br />157 STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA <br />158 1. Toni Withington requested to add to the Power View Planes and Erosion Control <br />159 report and said there will be a multi -generational bike ride March 31 st at 3:30pm <br />160 at the HUB parking lot for children of all ages to promote the idea of bike <br />161 pathways. <br />162 <br />163 SET AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING <br />164 <br />165 1. A member of the public mentioned the topic of tenant rights. <br />166 ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />167 1. The Chair requested that the public please help recruit people for the vacancies <br />168 of the North Kohala CDP AC. <br />169 <br />170 2. The Director, Michael Yee, mentioned that there would be some Planning <br />171 Department support staff changes coming soon for the North Kohala, South <br />172 Kohala and Kona CDP AC. Mr. Yee also mentioned that he is working on <br />173 outreach to the community and also mentioned that he is also working on cultural <br />174 preservation and that there is a common denomination with the Cultural <br />175 Resources Commission, and that the AC may want to coordinate their efforts <br />176 with that committee. <br />177 <br />178 3.
