Hawaii Game Management Advisory Commission Meeting <br />Minutes — February 13, 2017 <br />IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />Chairman Thomas Lodge made a motion to approve the minutes as <br />submitted. Dwayne D "Ike" Yoshina moved to accept the minutes of <br />January 17, 2017. Seconded by Naniloa Pogline. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br />V. BUDGET REPORT: <br />TL: Chairman Thomas Lodge moved to file the budget. Naniloa Pogline <br />moved to file the budge subject to audit. It shows $3,900.00 and we have <br />about $3,600.00. <br />VI. PUBLIC TESTIMONY ON AGENDA ITEMS: <br />TL: Do we have anybody from the public who will be testifying this evening on <br />any of the topics that we have? None from Hilo or Kona. <br />VII. DISCUSSION <br />1. Corie Yanger and JB Friday of the UH Cooperative Extension <br />Services to bring us an update on Rapid Ohia Death research. <br />(Time swapped with Chief Farrell — change in agenda) <br />TL: JB Friday from the University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension is here to <br />bring us an update on the rapid ohia death. Tell us a little bit about who <br />you are before you start. <br />JF: Thank you for having me. I'm JB Friday and I'm the Extension Forester <br />with the University of Hawaii so I'm actually U.H. Manoa faculty but I work <br />out of the Cooperative Extension Service here in Hilo. I used to do a lot of <br />koa reforestation work until rapid ohia death. <br />2. Chief Robert J. Farrell of DOCARE to introduce himself, his <br />vision, and the mandates and workload priorities of the <br />department and ways we can assist. <br />TL: We have a gentleman here from Honolulu who is probably a little short on <br />time and if you'd like to swap with him. <br />RF: Thank you very much. My name is Robert Ferrell, I'm the current Chief of <br />DOCARE — I just wanted to come in tonight to introduce myself. I've been <br />on the job a little more than three weeks as the Chief, however, I spent the <br />previous year here on the Big Island as an officer.
