Native Hawaiians have the lowest life <br />expectancy at 74.3 years (figure 4), eight years less than the <br />average age consumer receiving case management services <br />through HCOA. <br />Source: The Institute for Health metrics and Evaluation at: <br />www.healthmetricsandevaluation.orq retrieved on January 16, 2014 <br />The population over the age of sixty in <br />Hawai'i County is expected to triple from <br />the years 2000 to 2030 to almost 80,000 <br />older adults (See Figure 2). Moreover, people <br />are staying active longer as evidenced by <br />the average age of HCOA's case <br />management consumer being 82yrs old. <br />This is longer than the life average <br />expectancy for Hawaii county residents at <br />80yrs. HCOA estimates that consumers in <br />need of services will grow 3% each year. <br />Figure 3.
