original Retail Beer and Wine liquor license; seconded by Mr.
Greenwell.
Takaba: Any discussion?
Takase: Mr. Chairman, I can address the Commission. We met with Lynelle couple of
weeks ago. She described her operation to us and we felt it was more appropriate for
her to run a retail store and sell liquor, rather than trying to run a dispenser operation. In
my mind, a retail license is lower than a dispenser license, in terms of effects on
surrounding community. We therefore agreed with her that the best thing to do would be
to amend the application and become a retail license. She has agreed to that.
Takaba: Any further discussion?
There was no further discussion from the Commissioners.
Takaba: Hearing none. All those in favor of the motion to amend, say "Aye."
The Commissioners voted "Aye."
Takaba: Those opposed, "Nay."
There was no opposition by the Commissioners.
Takaba: Motion carried.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Takaba: Can you describe your business?
Paranada: We sell poke bowls and Hawaiian plates.
Takaba: Director, report of protests?
Takase: Mr. Chairman, the applicant mailed 22 out of 22 notices within 100 feet; 196 out
of 197 notices within 500 feet and one notice to a condominium of property owner.
There were 109 properties entitled to protest. There were no protests to this application.
Takaba: Thank you. Do we have public testimony?
There was no reply from the public.
Takaba: Hearing none. Commissioners, do you have any questions?
Taniguchi: Where is this located?
JULY 6, 2017 - LIQUOR COMMISSION MINUTES 10
